Lori, a licensed clinical social worker, was appointed executive director of Child Guidance Center in February 2009, and worked as a therapist, supervisor and clinical director for CGC since 1988. She has a track record of establishing strong professional partnerships and introducing innovative ideas, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. Lori earned her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and her master's degree in social work from Columbia University. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She resides in Huntington Beach, Calif., with her teenage sons, Evan and Brent.
Rosalba, a licensed marriage and family therapist, has worked in the helping field for the past 12 years. Her experience is focused on victims of domestic violence as well as victims of trauma, including adults and children. Rosalba is fully trained in PCIT, which she has practiced for four years and has successfully utilized to assist children with various behavioral challenges. Rosalba completed her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy at California State University, Fullerton. She also has volunteered with local police departments for seven years, working to assist the community on calls that require a counselor to stabilize an immediate crisis.
As a clinician for Child Guidance Center, Marianna, MSW, ASW, provides direct clinical, psychosocial and mental health services to children, adolescents and families. In addition, she conducts PCIT in both English and Spanish. Marianna also co-leads a Spanish parenting group focused on limits, discipline, structure and positive reinforcement. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and her master’s degree in social work from the University of New York.
Jackie, a licensed clinical social worker, joined Child Guidance Center in 2005. She began her PCIT training in 2007 and has completed her certification. Jackie received her master’s degree in social work from California State University, Long Beach and her double bachelor’s degree in psychology and human services from California State University, Fullerton. Her special interests include spending time with her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old-son, with whom she utilizes her PCIT skills on a regular basis.
Sylvia has a variety of specialized clinical interests, including depression, anxiety, intergenerational issues, developmental issues and working with diverse populations. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Irvine. She earned both her master’s degree and doctorate in counseling psychology from Washington State University.
Oscar, doctor of clinical psychology, brings a broad range of knowledge and experience to his role as a therapist at CGC. While Oscar specializes in the field of trauma, as well as therapy for couples, he also works with a number of clients who demonstrate mood and anxiety disorders resulting from real-life problems. He works diligently to help these individuals find effective solutions for improving their day-to-day functioning. Oscar graduated from the University of California, Irvine with his bachelor’s degree in psychology. He also completed bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biochemistry at California State University, Long Beach—after which he went on to pursue his doctorate in psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, now known as Alliant International University.
Veronica, a practicing licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, currently provides therapy to children ranging in age from 18 months to 18 years, as well as their families. With substantial counseling experience in both school and agency settings, she now specializes in PCIT and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Veronica also provides bilingual services in Spanish and English. She earned her bachelor’s degree in criminology, law and society from the University of California, Irvine and her master’s degree in counseling from California State University, Fullerton.
Tay is clinical program director for Child Guidance Center's Children's Mental Health program in Santa Ana. A graduate of California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), Los Angeles, he is a specialist in Child and Family Therapy. Tay has been employed at Child Guidance Center since 1997. His main focus is on staff development, innovative treatments and quality of care. He is the father of three boys, ages 10, 7 and 5, and enjoys biking, swimming and spending time with his family.
Marta, a license child psychologist, lends significant knowledge, skill and understanding to her current position as a PCIT therapist. She has extensive research and teaching experience in child psychology and psychological assessment, among other related fields of study. She is also bilingual in English and Spanish. Marta earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook; her master’s degree in school psychology from the City University of New York at Queens College; and her doctorate in psychology from the Walden University School of Psychology. Today, Marta resides in Newport Beach, Calif.
Having worked in the mental health field for the past 30 years as a Clinical Social Worker and a Marriage and Family Therapist, Ilyana brings tremendous expertise to Child Guidance Center. Licensed in the states of California and Texas, Ilyana specializes in providing treatment for children who have experienced trauma and attachment problems, behavioral issues, abuse, and neglect. She also works with adults who have experienced divorce, trauma, marital issues and domestic violence.
Misty, director of business development at Child Guidance Center, is responsible for expanding opportunities and driving referrals for the proven, effective PCIT counseling model. She also takes the lead in extending brand awareness of CGC and its various other counseling services. Prior to joining CGC, Misty held the position of business development manager at B&M Investments Inc. In this role, she was responsible for the management of purchasing and development of real-estate investment properties, and the management of rental properties. Misty also is involved with several parent groups in the South Orange County community. Misty earned her bachelor's degree in philosophy from Cal Poly Pomona. She resides in Foothill Ranch, Calif.
